AWCCA organization by Shanghai Cable Research Institute Dong Wei served as the first chairman, the secretariat is located in the Shanghai Cable Research Institute, indicates that China has become the center of the wire and cable industry in Asia.

According to the "Cooperation Organization Charter of wire and cable industry in Asia", AWCCA aimed at promoting exchanges and communication between the wire and cable industry associations of the countries and regions in Asia, social organizations and institutions, as well as wire and cable manufacturing companies efforts to promote the production technology of wire and cable manufacturers in the region improvement of learning to promote the successful experience of the advanced countries and regions, and in a timely manner to understand and follow the international advanced technologies and standards, improve product standards and specifications, market and investment information sharing between members. AWCCA will assist the members of the Association, between members of the manufacturing enterprise exchanges, communication and training activities, and to provide effective support, and jointly promote the development of the wire and cable industry in Asia.
